Vacation

Hello everyone, thank you for visiting my website and blog. The summer weather here in Houston continues to be a scorcher with no end in sight. Earlier this week I returned from vacation, visited Huntsville, Alabama, Franklin & Nashville, Tennessee.  Was able to spend some time with my younger sister and her family and visited a cousin I hadn’t seen in years. As always, it is great to get away from the normal routine and enjoy the beauty of God’s creation. The cities that I visited are very pretty and a photographers paradise, the scenery is perfect! I wish I were able to pack up and move. There once was a time that if that’s what I wanted to do, then I would do it. But now I’ve settled in here in Houston, but who knows what the future holds. Maybe the Lords plans are for me to remain here in Houston or maybe not.

Well, back to work! School sports  and portrait photography is picking up again. I love my job and am thankful for all the clients and friends I have made. Looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones. Also, I’m a student at San Jacinto College in the Eye Care Program. Classes start again for me on Aug 30. I’d be lying if I told you I was excited about it. Actually, I am but only ready to get it over with.

Hope that each of you had a great summer. If you ever see me while photographing introduce yourself and say hi!

Twitter or not to Twitter?

Social Media has really taken off in the past few years. I remember about 4 years ago A friend from my bible study group introduced me to Facebook. At the time not many people were using it. I tried it for a while and thought I was wasting time that I could be doing something else. So I stopped going to my Facebook page for about a year. About a year later I went back to Facebook after friends bringing it back to my attention. Wow! Within that one year it really took off. Now it seems as though everyone is on it. Some too much (myself included) and others hiding themselves by only reading the status of everyone else and not posting. Oh, we know who you are..Lol. Personally, I enjoy Facebook to communicate with friends and clients. I use both my personal and business page as a means for doing this.

Now Twitter has been brought to my attention. I opened a Twitter account maybe a year ago and have forgotten all about it. I do hear about athletes always Tweeting, if that’s what it’s called, so much personal information. Lately I have realized that Twitter is somewhat like Facebook. It’s another social media that lets us communicate with family, friends and clients. Right now I feel the same way about Twitter as I did about Facebook 4 years ago. Do I really want to do this? Not many of my friends use Twitter and I don’t follow anyone on Twitter. I do think I have one or two followers on Twitter. Well, If they haven’t stopped due to my lack of activity. Heck, I have a hard time posting on Facebook. No telling how boring my Twitter or Tweets would be. Is it called Tweets? I sure hope not!!

So I still haven’t decided whether to use Twitter or not. I’ll leave that up to you all to decide. If I can get at least 100 followers by Saturday, July 30, 2011 I will start Tweeting. That sounds weird! So tell your family and friends to follow me. I’m guessing you look my name up on Twitter. I have no clue how to get followers. Try looking up Manuel Guerrero to begin with.

Sorry, I wasn’t prepared to write this. But as I sit here at home watching “A League Of Their Own” this came to mind..maybe I should have posted this on Twitter too.. actually, I think I will visit my Twitter account as soon as I sign off Facebook.

Great Golf, Great Tennis or whatever makes you happy….Marvin Zindler

Hello Everyone

Hello, hope that you have been enjoying your summer. I don’t know about you, but I’m pretty tired of this heat. I was watching the world news today and the USA is pretty much experiencing above normal heat conditions. Be safe out there and stay hydrated. The heat can sneak up on you and before you know it your dehydrated or ill.

My summer has gone well. Lately I have been doing some research on new items I’d like to add to my photography and also attending many workshops. The workshops have been very beneficial in gathering new ideas, information and talking to other photographers.

This coming weekend I have a wedding to photograph and am very much looking forward to it. The wedding and reception are taking place at the same location and it is an awesome location with many, many creative features. I’m excited about this and can’t wait to see the results.

Tomorrow is Monday, another weekend has past. I hope that you have a wonderful week and do your best in all that you do..Peace!!

Manny
